Low-Light HD USB Camera

This digital HD USB camera has excellent low-light performance, onboard compression, and a specially chosen lens to provide fantastic video quality on ROVs and other subsea applications! For upgrading your BlueROV2, please get the camera mount as well.

This Low-Light HD USB Camera is ideally suited to use underwater with excellent low-light performance, good color handling, and onboard video compression. A specially-chosen wide-angle, low distortion lens provides excellent picture quality on the ROV.

Based on the Sony IMX322 sensor, this camera uses a large sensor (1/2.9″) and a relatively low pixel count (2MP, 1080p), meaning that the physical pixel size is large to allow maximum light sensitivity. We’ve had this camera down at 300m depth, where we could see subtle bioluminescent creatures in the darkness!

The camera also has an onboard H.264 compression chip so that all of the video compression is done onboard and doesn’t place much load on the main computer. That also means that we’ll be able to support multiple cameras in the future for alternate views.

This camera is fully supported in ArduSub. Includes an 8″ USB cable with JST-PH connector. The camera’s PCB is 32 x 32mm and works well with our Camera Tilt System. For upgrading your BlueROV2, please get the camera mount as well.

Raspberry Pi Camera Module v2 w/ Wide Angle Lens

The 8MP Raspberry Pi v2 Camera provides excellent video quality in a wide range of conditions. This modified version includes a custom wide-angle lens for a 110 degree field-of-view!

This is the Raspberry Pi v2 camera module, modified with a custom lens holder and wide-angle lens that’s much better suited to use on ROVs. The original field of view of the camera is about 62 degrees horizontally – this lens extends that to about 110 degrees.

The lens holder and lens are preinstalled and focused. No setup required.

This camera works great with the Raspberry Pi 3! The included cable plugs directly into the Raspberry Pi 3 board for easy setup.

Low-Light Analog Camera

This analog camera has incredible low-light sensitivity, 700TVL resolution, wide-angle field-of-view, and a standard NTSC or PAL video output.

This low-light analog camera is very well suited for use in subsea applications. With a light sensitivity of just 0.0003 lux, it can pick up colors and maintain good quality even in very low-light situations. In our own testing, we found that this camera is sensitive enough to show colors in a dark room where most cameras will show nothing but black!

With a 2.1mm lens, it has a wide-angle field of view of 128 degrees horizontally and 96 degrees vertically. The camera consists of the 1/3″ Sony Super HAD 810 CCD sensor and the Sony Effio-A 4151 System IC, with 700TVL resolution and digital noise reduction. The camera outputs a standard NTSC or PAL signal compatible with many displays and capture cards.

This camera works great with the Fathom-S Tether Interface Boards for clear video over tethers of 300m or more! The included cable plugs directly into the Fathom-S board for easy setup.

Besides subsea applications, this camera is fantastic for FPV flying of drones and other vehicles as well!
